Aircraft Specialty Training is a small aircraft flight instruction provider that focuses on specific, difficult to source aspects of small aircraft operations. This includes instruction in spin recognition and recovery (as required for Certified Flight Instructors) and tailwheel operations.
You (the student)
A good candidate for Aircraft Specialty Training is a pilot with a significant amount of traditional training under his or her belt. While we want to encourage anyone with an interest in aviation, we focus on advanced topics that require a certain amount of familiarity and maturity with single-engine operations. Many of our students will be pilots seeking a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) certificate.
Students should be set to take an active role in their training, coming prepared and ready to learn!
Training
Spin Recognition and Recovery
Targeted toward CFI students preparing to complete their program, spin recognition and recovery training is a brief but exiting taste of what flying outside the typical flight envelope is like.
This training is required for all CFI candidates per FAR §61.183(i)(1).
Please download and review the spin training syllabus to be prepared for your training!
Tailwheel Operations
Tailwheel aircraft require a unique set of piloting skills that are developed from specialized training. This is required for all pilots in command of tailwheel aircraft per FAR §61.31(i).
Please download and review the tailwheel syllabus to prepare for this training!
